Dear Coach,
The committee for the Southern California International Softball Festival
and Southern California ASA are pleased to invite you to attend the 2008
Champions Cup. This premier International and Junior Olympic event is
scheduled for July 16 through July 20, 2008 and will be located in Irvine,
California. The proceeds from this event will be used to make direct awards
to athletes requiring and deserving of financial assistance in the
continuation of their college educations.
We will have in attendance the finest Junior Olympic teams in the nation
competing for the tournament championship. We have 96 registered Gold and
“A” level teams in the Junior Olympic Showcase, most of them are preparing
for their National Championship tournaments in August, 2008.
Our goal is to do all we can to make this event productive for you from a
recruiting aspect as well as providing a relaxing and enjoyable environment.
Tournament activity in the JO divisions will be held at 4 locations, all
within a reasonable distance from each other. However, the bulk of the
schedule for these divisions will be held at Harvard Athletic Park, a
7-diamond complex laid out in close proximity. Bill Barber has a 4-diamond
complex; Alton Park has a 2-diamond complex; and Lower Peters has a 1-
diamond complex. We can provide team hotel locations which will allow you
the option of meeting prospects at their hotel. For your comfort and
convenience, we will have a hospitality tent erected at Harvard so that you
can relax during the day. This is also where you can check in and pick up
the “college book” of teams and player rosters.
